Executive Director

Robert R. Rentfrow
(‘02, Xi-Theta, Valdosta State)

Brother Rentfrow is a 2002 initiate of the Xi-Theta Chapter at Valdosta State University in Georgia. As an undergraduate he served the order as a member of the Ritual Commission and Historical Commission. He became a Master of the Ritual (#200) and received his Jackson's Men Pin (#539). He served the chapter as a Guard, and was the recipient of the 2002 Diligence and Commitment Award, and the 2002 New Member of the Year Award. He was also named the Area II Undergraduate of the Year at the 64th Biennal Grand Conclave in Tampa, Florida.

Upon graduating in 2003 Brother Rentfrow assumed the role of Assistant District Grand Master for the South Georgia District. During this time he received the 2004 Assistant District Grand Master of the Year award at the Cincinatti Leadership Conference. Later that year he was appointed District Grand Master for South Georgia and served in that capacity until 2007 when he moved to Charlottesville to become Executive Director of the Endowment Fund.

Brother Rentfrow began his career with the Endowment Fund in 2005 at the 65th Biennal Grand Conclave in Las Vegas, Nevada. He served as Area Development Manager for the Southeastern US Territory. During this time he was responsible for cultivating new Jackson's Men and securing new charitable gifts for the Renaissance Campaign. He now serves as Executive Director in charge of general operations and alumni development.

Volunteer Director of Development

William O. (Bill) Waters
(‘52, Alpha Beta, Mercer)

Brother Waters assumed the position of Director of Development in April of 2004. Prior to this assignment he had served as Director of the Renaissance Campaign since May 2003.

He has served the Order in many capacities over the years. As Jackson's Scribe, he has helped raise over two million dollars through "One of Jackson's Men." He has personally contacted hundreds of brothers and supervised several undergraduate phone-a-thon programs.

Simultaneously, he has served Kappa Sigma over the years as District Grand Master of three separate districts for a total of twelve years and as Alumnus Advisor for three different chapters. During his tenure as District Grand Master of District XXI, comprised of chapters in West Tennessee and Arkansas, his chapters received more Scholarship-Leadership Awards and more Founders Awards of Chapter Excellence than any other district. He has served as a member of the Ritual Commission since 1993 and has also found the time to produce the historical video, "Kappa Sigma–A Journey Through the Ages."

Upon his retirement as District Grand Master in 1999, the Annual District Grand Master of the Year Award was permanently named in his honor. Brother Waters received the District Grand Master of the Year Award at the 63rd Biennial Conclave in Memphis, Tennessee. He is a Master of the Ritual and "One of Jackson's Men," pin number Four. Brother Waters was inducted into the Kappa Sigma Hall of Honor at the 65th Biennal Grand Conclave in Las Vegas, Nevada. He remains one of only three living initiates along side Endowment Fund Trustees Dr. John W. Ryan and Brother Luke J. Schissel.

Having lived in Memphis, Tennessee for over thirty years, Brother Waters moved to Warner Robins, Georgia upon his retirement. While he may have permanent residence in Warner Robins, GA, his dedication to raising money for the order and the Renaissance Campaign is stronger than ever. While his work for the Endowment Fund, though virtually full-time, is served as a volunteer.

Renaissance Campaign Chairman

Kevin S. Kaplan
(‘82, Theta-Zeta, Eastern New Mexico University)

Kappa Sigma's current Past Worthy Grand Master is a Brother that all Kappa Sigma's should strive to be like.  His love for the Order can be adequately measured by the effort that he has put into the Fraternity's growth and prosperity. He was elected WGM at the 64th Biennial Grand Conclave in Tampa, Florida. By virtue of this office, he served as an ex-officio Trustee of the Kappa Sigma Endowment Fund.

Kevin Kaplan served as an Alumnus Advisor at the University of New Mexico from 1986-1989. He was then the Alumnus Advisor at Eastern New Mexico University (at Theta-Zeta, the Chapter he was initiated at) from 1990-1994. He acted as Grand Master of the Birmingham Kappa Sigma Alumni Association from 1991-1992 and as the Grand Master of Albuquerque Kappa Sigma Alumni Association in 1993. In 1995, he was the Assistant Jackson's Scribe of the Kappa Sigma Endowment Fund.  From 1997-1999 he served as a District Grand Master of District 38 as well as the Commissioner of the Recruitment and Expansion Commission at that same time. He acted as Worthy Grand Master of Ceremonies from 1999-2001 and then as Worthy Grand Procurator from 2001-2003 after being elected at the 63rd Grand Conclave in Memphis, Tennessee..

Kaplan comes from a strong background in marketing, so it is no wonder that he has raised over $100,000 for the Kappa Sigma Endowment Fund by enrolling 100+ Brothers through the "Jackson's Men" Program. During his term of Recruitment and Expansion Commissioner, Kappa Sigma experienced the first pledging increase in 10 years. This was partly due to the program that he created, known as the "Five More Pledges" program.

Kevin is the President and CEO of  Promotion Dynamics International and represents several NBA teams, major university athletic departments, USA Olympic sporting events, NCAA college basketball tournaments and television star Bill Cosby.

He has worked hard and continues to work hard for Kappa Sigma, and we are all benefiting from his efforts.
