Donation Opportunities / Heritage Society

Established in 1993, the Kappa Sigma Heritage Society recognizes brothers who have remembered the Order in their estate plan by naming Kappa Sigma as a beneficiary in their will, as owner and beneficiary of a life insurance policy or as beneficiary of a charitable trust instrument. Nearly one hundred brothers have made such a gift.

Each Heritage Society member has found that it is relatively easy to craft a gift of surprising significance to the Order's future. Depending on the type of gift arrangement, it may be possible to receive an immediate tax deduction. You may also be able to avoid capital gains tax on appreciated assets, avoid estate and gift tax and/or receive an income stream for life.

If you have made a provision for the Endowment Fund in your estate plan, we would be pleased to recognize your generosity through the Heritage Society. At the same time, the Endowment Fund can provide assistance to you if your are interested in such a gift. Heritage Society donors are recognized perpetually at http://ef.kappasigma.org/.

Download this form (Microsoft Word Format 33K / Adobe .pdf Format 22K) to ensure your planned gift is administered properly when communicating your planned gift to the Endowment Fund. Your special generosity will have a significant impact on generations of Kappa Sigma brothers yet unborn!

…Please watch for more information on different methods of planned giving that will be available for your review very soon.

Please be advised that while the Kappa Sigma Endowment Fund is more than willing to provide help during your heritage society/estate gift planning process, we are not authorized to or attempting to provide tax advice in any form or fashion. Please contact your financial advisor for specifics on tax law.
